Bangkok, Thailand - The Global Alliance of Pet Food Associations (GAPFA) is pleased to announce the resounding success of its Technical Congress and Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025, held from 23-25 June at the Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort in Bangkok, Thailand.

Hosted by the Petfood Industry Association of Thailand (PIA), this flagship event brought together over 60 participants from around the world, including industry leaders, senior executives of global pet food companies, regulatory authorities, and representatives of international organizations.

The Congress theme - “Elevating Industry Growth through Commercial Diets, Safety, and Transparency” - provided the backdrop for robust discussions on sustainable industry growth, food safety standards, regulatory collaboration and innovation.

“This year’s Congress was a milestone for GAPFA, underscoring our shared commitment to advancing pet food safety, sustainability, and industry best practices through open dialogue and collaboration,” said the GAPFA President Loretta Hunter.

Key Highlights

• Technical Congress (23 June 2025): Featured expert presentations from GAPFA leadership, major global manufacturers, and international organizations such as the UN World Food Programme and the Terrestrial Animal Health Commission of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH). Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on sustainability, safe trade, nutritional standards, and regulatory alignment.
• GAPFA Workstream Meetings (24 June 2025): Members collaborated on specialized topics including nutrition, food safety, trade facilitation, and communications, identifying practical steps for continued global cooperation.
• Annual General Meeting (25 June 2025): GAPFA members reviewed strategic priorities, governance matters, and key industry initiatives aimed at enhancing safety standards and fostering responsible growth.
• Networking and Cultural Events: Attendees enjoyed curated opportunities to strengthen relationships, including an exclusive meet-and-greet, formal networking dinners, and a unique cultural experience with an elephant painting class.

The 2025 Congress further solidified GAPFA’s role as a leading platform for industry-wide collaboration, bringing diverse stakeholders together to promote a shared vision for safe, nutritious, and sustainable pet food. The event’s success underscores the organization’s commitment to fostering dialogue that helps shape the future of the global pet food industry.
